The Nenagh Guardian published the article entitled “Celebrating women business flair in Tipp” in which the Network Ireland North Tipperary Businesswoman of the Year Awards that took place on June 3 rd was featured. The annual event highlights the successes of key women entrepreneurs in North Tipperary. The winners will represent the county in the national finals.

Margaret joined an esteemed panel of judges that are experts in their respective industries namely Eleanor Forrest of Local Enterprise Office Tipperary and Rita Dempsey of AIB Thurles. “We were very impressed with the calibre of this year’s finalists and found it hard to decide on the final hour. All the shortlisted candidates have demonstrated high-quality work within their industry”, Eleanor Forrest said. Margaret was also the guest speaker at the event.

“These awards provide a wonderful platform for supporting and encouraging women in business and a valuable opportunity for businesswomen to showcase their companies and gain recognition they deserve,” says Mary Considine, Acting CEO of Shannon Group. Along with LEO Tipperary and AIB, Shannon Airport is a sponsor of the event.

This year’s victors were Geraldine Byrne of Mediskin in the SME Category, Brid Harrington of Premier Insurances in the Emerging Business Category and Aileen Delaney of SYS Wealth Management in the Employee Category.

The finalists were Helen O’Dwyer of Unique Hair Salon Thurles, Christine Fanning of Family Wholefood Health Thurles, Lynn Slattery of Elegance Beauty Nenagh, Leanne Coen of Mediskin Nenagh and Miriam Durack of Munster HR Associates Thurles.

The standards were set very high by our nominees this year and we are confident that the winners representing Tipperary at the National Network Ireland Awards Gala Ceremony will make strong candidates.” says Camelia Shanahan, President of Network Ireland North Tipperary.

Network Ireland, “a progressive, dynamic organisation supporting the professional and personal development of women”, was established in 1983 with Network Ireland North Tipperary as one of its 17 branches across the Republic.
